About the Position:
A South Florida–based construction and development firm is seeking a Staff Accountant – Construction Accounting to support full-cycle accounting operations. This role provides hands-on exposure to job cost accounting, Work-In-Progress (WIP) reporting, AIA billing, and subcontractor payment processes.
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller to support accounting operations across multiple construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with construction accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, and General Ledger)
- Prepare and maintain Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules
- Support job cost accounting and budget tracking
- Process subcontractor and vendor payments, including retainage
- Track lien waivers and subcontractor compliance documentation
- Prepare and review AIA billing forms (G702/G703)
- Maintain job cost reports and collaborate with project managers
- Perform bank and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close
- Utilize QuickBooks for daily accounting and reporting

Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience or strong exposure to construction accounting
- QuickBooks proficiency (construction environment preferred)
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $60,000–$75,000 per year
