Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong SAP experience, a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, and prior experience working for a U.S.-based company.
This role requires a hands-on professional who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash transactions, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including:
- Cash accounts
- Prepaid expenses
- Fixed assets
- Accruals
- Intercompany transactions
• Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
• Process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and payment runs
• Maintain accurate financial records within SAP Business One, including journal postings, reporting, and workflow management
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and audit requirements
• Support external audits and assist with sales tax and use tax filings
• Partner closely with Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and process alignment
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and help streamline accounting workflows
• Support inventory-related accounting activities and assist with financial analysis as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a multi-entity, international, manufacturing, distribution, or global business environment
• Previous experience working for a U.S.-based company is required
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices
• Hands-on experience with SAP Business One (SAP B1 strongly preferred)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reconciliation analysis
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and time zones
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Avalara or AvaTax
• Familiarity with SAP Business One add-ons such as Boyum or B1UP
• Experience within manufacturing, distribution, import/export, or related industries
• Knowledge of U.S. sales tax regulations, inventory accounting, duties, tariffs, and landed cost accounting
• Experience supporting external audits and financial compliance initiatives
